Virtual Solo Show by Marco Secchi !

We are delighted to bring you the wonderful photographs by Marco Secchi ! Visit Marco's showroom here:

Marco Secchi's photography, predominantly captured through the esteemed lenses of Leica cameras, stands as a testament to the timeless elegance of black and white imagery. Based in the culturally rich cities of Venice, Budapest, and Ljubljana, Marco's work transcends mere visual capture; it's an intimate dance with light and shadow, a nuanced exploration of the human condition and the ethereal beauty of urban landscapes.

In the world of black and white photography, Marco's images are distinguished by their profound depth and dynamic range. The monochrome palette doesn't limit but rather enhances his artistic expression, allowing viewers to delve into the essence of the scene, unencumbered by the distractions of color. His work is not just about capturing moments; it's about narrating stories, evoking emotions, and unveiling the soul of his subjects.

Marco's choice of Leica as his primary tool is no coincidence. Leica's renowned precision and unparalleled quality align perfectly with his artistic vision. The camera's discreet profile enables him to immerse himself in environments, capturing candid moments with a naturalness that's rarely achieved. The sharpness and clarity of Leica lenses, combined with their unique rendering of light and texture, bring an almost tactile quality to his images.

Whether it's the labyrinthine alleys of Venice, the architectural grandeur of Budapest, or the vibrant streets of Ljubljana, Marco's photography invites the viewer on a journey. Each frame, meticulously composed and masterfully executed, speaks of his passion for the craft and his dedication to the art of visual storytelling.

Through his workshops and masterclasses, Marco shares his expertise and love for film photography, inspiring a new generation of photographers to explore the rich potential of black-and-white imagery. His work is not just a display of technical proficiency; it's a celebration of the world in shades of grey, a tribute to the enduring allure of monochrome photography.

First, we took over Times Square, now the silver screen, what else can we accomplish in 2024?

March Group Show "Girl Power!"

Ever since it made its grand entrance on the popular culture stage thanks to the US punk band Bikini Kill, the term “Girl Power” has steadfastly held its position as a significant (political) catchphrase. “Girl Power” gained more prominence in pop culture after it was embraced by the British pop band the Spice Girls in the late 90’s, transforming it into a significant and appealing slogan. The meaning of ”Girl Power” is a self-reliant attitude among people in ambition, assertiveness, and individualism. In this art show, we wish to pay homage to the voices and the stories woven by women across generations. It is a tribute to the transformations, the triumphs, and the unity that can arise when women unapologetically embrace their individuality and their stories. Artists are encouraged to embrace diversity and show the multicultural experiences and perspectives of women. This art show welcomes artworks from all genders, but the subject of the show is girls/women.

We welcome artworks from all mediums of visual art, except AI-created art, and video/film.

Digital entries must be received by February 27th, 2024 before 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Elevate Your Artist Bio & Statement With

HMVC’s Gold Standard

We are very happy to announce that we have implemented a new service called "Artist's Writing Aid."

We are well aware of how artists struggle with writing Artist Bios and Statements because we review them every month. Many artists do not realize that their Artist Bio and Statement are a gateway to the art world and unfortunately many end up missing out on good opportunities because of poor writing.

So why not let us help you tell your story in a way that resonates, captivates, and elevates your artistic identity.

With our "Artist's Writing Aid", we provide you with a white glove mentor service by:

★ Uncover Your Unique Voice: We’ll conduct interviews and research to understand your artistic journey, inspirations, and aspirations.

★ Craft a Compelling Narrative: We will transform your experiences and thoughts into engaging narratives that captivate your audience.

★ Tailor for Your Audience: We consider your target audience—whether it’s galleries, collectors, or the general public—ensuring your artist bio and statement resonate with them.

★ Edit and Refine: We provide multiple rounds of revisions to ensure your bio and statement are perfect in every way.

Together, we’ll take your artistry to new heights!

HMVC Gallery New York is now offering you the opportunity to have your own solo show on our ArtPlacer virtual platform for a month. Because the artists in our community are at various stages in their careers, we have created three different plans for you to choose from Plan Manor, Plan Palace, and Plan Castle.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in doing a Solo Show with us.
